The privilege of the newcomer member in 2006

The newcomer student members and the supporting members of JSCS in 2006 can receive a signing up privilege.

Our society holds various forums for information provision and interchange on computational statistics for supporting members.

We look forward to the admission of corporations and associations related to statistical science, its adjacent fields, computers and so on.

The following are the privileges for admission in 2006:

• For student members:
  You can take part in our annual meeting or symposium without fee only once. For details.
• For supporting members:
  The advertisement of the company and the products can be published at the society issue. For details.

Privilege

• [Period covered:] From Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 in 2006
• [Object people:] New members who apply for membership within period covered and pay admission fee and first year's fee.
  (Upon the confirmation of payment of admission fee and the first year's fee, you have the right of privilege.)
  *There is no admission fee for supporting members.

Privilege for Student Members

You can participate in our annual meeting or symposium without fee only once.

• This can be used in lieu of the attendance fee (including price for the proceedings) for annual meetings and symposiums held within a year since your right of privilege occurred. It may not be used in lieu of the fee for parties.
• We will send you an invitation ticket, upon confirmation of payment of admission fee and the first year's fee.
• When you apply for participation to the annual meeting and symposium, offer to use the invitation ticket, and on the day please take the ticket with you.
• Use of the invitation ticket is only for the assigned person.

Privileges for Supporting Members

The advertisement of the company and the products can be published at the society issue.

• The one page company advertisement can be published at the society issue (Journal of the Japanese Society of Computational Statistics, Bulletin of the Computational Statistics of Japan, Proceeding of the annual meeting or the symposium) which is published within one year since your right of the privilege occured.

(B) At most five people can take part in our annual meeting or symposium for free.

• The target of the admission free is the attendance fee (including price for the proceedings) for the annual meeting or symposium held within a year since your right of privilege occurred. The fee for parties is out of the target.
• We will send you five invitation tickets. The way you use the tickets depends on you. (Ex. three tickets for an annual meeting, two for a symposium.)
• Use of invitation tickets is only for people who belong to your corporation or association.

You become a member formally when you are admitted at the nearest council after your application. In case you can not get admission as a member for any reason, you can not use the privilege although you get back your admission fee and the first user's fee paid. In this case, please note that an invitation ticket and discount participation ticket which we send you will not be available.

Actual Examples

Privileges for Regular or Student Members

1. You pay the admission fee and the first year's fee on Feb. 3, 2005
   Then you can take part in either the 19th annual meeting (in May, 2005) or the 19th symposium (in autumn, 2005) without fee.
2. You make an application and pay the admission fee and the first year's fee on the day of the 19th annual meeting in May 2005.
   Then you can take part in either the annual meeting or the 19th symposium (in autumn, 2005) without fee.
3. You pay the admission fee and the first year's fee on Aug. 10, 2005.
   Then you can take part in either the 19th symposium (in autumn, 2005) or the 20th annual meeting (scheduled to be held in May 2006) without fee.

Privilege for People to be Supporting Members

1. You pay the first year's fee on Feb. 3, 2005.
   Then five people in total can take part in either the 19th annual meeting (in May, 2005) or the 19th symposium (in autumn, 2005) without fee.
   For example, (1) five people participate in same annual meeting, (2) three people participate in annual meeting and two people participate in the symposium, (3) two people participate in both annual meeting and the symposium and one person participates only in annual meeting, and so on.
