The Japanese Society of Computational Statistics (JSCS) is a scientific and educational society founded in 1986 to broaden and extend excellence of computational statistics, which plays a significant role in the information age, through academic activities for various fields in statistical science and computational science. To do this, JSCS has the following missions.

JSCS organizes an annual meeting and a symposium every year for authors to read their research papers.
JSCS organizes and supports international conferences.
JSCS publishes three scientific journals every year (two in Japanese and one in English).
JSCS sends Newsletters and E-mail news to JSCS members to inform them of the hottest news and exchange useful information.
JSCS conducts online projects via the Internet.
JSCS gives awards for excellent studies and research.
